The market leading infrastructure & energy recruiter is seeking a Commissioning Manager to support the construction of a Concentrated Solar Power Plant.
Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join one of our reputable Global clients who operate as a multidisciplinary and professional services engineering company. This specific plant uses Parabolic Trough technology with, Thermal Energy Storage, with the following major equipment: Solar Field, Thermal Oil system, Molten Salts Thermal Energy Storage (TES) System, Steam Generator, steam turbine, air-cooled condenser. The Plant will generate electricity onto the South African National Grid.
Job Role / Responsibilities
Acting as the Commissioning Manager your responsibilities will be inclusive of; but not limited to:
Participate in the monitoring of the progress of the project commissioning activities and compare the actual progress with the contractual planning;Following up of the daily Works on Site related to commissioning activities, including planning and participation to (daily) commissioning meetings.Review, comment and approve the commissioning documents issued by the EPC contractor to ensure the completeness and consistency with regard to the EPC Tests on Completion;Follow-up of the Acceptance Tests (Trial Run, Reliability Run, Performance Tests ), review the test reports and make recommendations regarding their approval;Assist the Project Manager in the management of variation orders and claims between the Owner and the EPC contractor;Issue the necessary reporting related to the status of commissioning activities
Requirements
For this particular role we require the ideal candidate have:
Having at least a bachelor degree in Engineering with commissioning experience in similar projects;10 year experience in Power Plant projects, with proven experiences in CSP start-up and operation, TES, ST, ACC (at least 5 years of field experience)Very good knowledge in CSP process, mechanical equipment and good knowledge of associated disciplines (I&C, electrical equipment);
Salary Package
The gross salary for this position is circa $10000 USD per month. This is an expat position. Accommodation and Mobility are paid for.
